Carl Weathers was born on January 14, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States of America. He passed away on 1 February 2024, in Los Angeles, California, United States, at the age of 76.

He went to St. Augustine High School where he played boxing, football, gymnastics, judo, soccer, and wrestling. After that, he went to Long Beach Poly High where he graduated in 1966.

In the same year, he enrolled at Long Beach City College.
