According to her, she met James in Texas, in 2003, but he completely denied her.

James Brown was married three times to different women. Their names are Adrienne Rodriguez, Deidre Jenkins, and Velma Warren.

On December 23, 2002, he and the background singer for his band Tomi Rae Hynie tied the knot. However, after his death, there were several reports that stated their marriage was not valid.

It turned out that Hynie was still married to a man from Bangladesh named Javed Ahmed.

James Brown reportedly had a number of children from several women: Teddy Brown, James Joseph Brown II, Yamma Brown, Venisha Brown, LaRhonda Pettit, and Deanna Brown Thomas.

He passed away on Christmas Day 2006, at the age of 73, from congestive heart failure, resulting from complications of pneumonia.
