He was born Tatchakorn Yeerum on 5 February 1976 and raised in Surin, Thailand. Tony Jaa is currently 47 years old. His parents are Thongdee Yeerum and Rin Saipetch.
He has a Kuy ethnic background. He started learning martial arts when he was young after watching films by Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee.
In a 2004 interview with Time, he had this to say about the legends, “What they did was so beautiful, so heroic that I wanted to do it too,” He said. “I practiced until I could do the move exactly as I had seen the masters do it.”
When he was 10, he started training in Muay Thai at his local temple. He soon became a protégé of Thai martial arts action choreographer, film director, screenwriter, and actor Panna Rittikrai.
