Kelly, 43, passed away in her sleep at Pax Rehab House in Altadena, California, a few days after checking into the institution.
The Los Angeles Department of Coroner concluded on January 3, 2014, that she died as a result of accidental oral “multiple drug intoxication” from an undisclosed substance.
Her agent, Craig Wyckoff, issued a statement to People magazine confirming that she had died.
“Unfortunately Lisa Robin Kelly passed away last evening. Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years,” Wyckoff’s statement said. “I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night she lost the battle. Cause of death has not been issued yet and no death certificate has been issued either.”
